How many people have gotten lost using mapquest?

ME! I was a huge fan of Mapquest until it once sent me into a sugar cane field (private property) I reported it to them and didn't even get a response. I followed the directions step by step and was sent into a sugar cane field! I was pissed.

not on map quest...but tom tom sent me on a wild goose chase ,10 miles down a dirt road, through a forest..

and if i had stayed on the highway i was on...

i was only two minutes from my destination

Mapquest does not seem to have as frequent of updates as does Yahoo Maps or even Microsoft streets & Trips. Mapquest is good for only the most basic directions to well known locations.

Never, I learned how to read a map when I was a kid, learned cardinal directions, and have no use for those GPS systems either.  I do a lot of offroading also, so mapquest really wouldn't help in the middle of knowhere anyhow.

Some of the previous answers sound quite comical.  I personally love the GPS system that I believe Cadillac had in the steering wheel of their luxury SUV, I always wondered how the h**l you were supposed to read that while trying to steer the vehicle.  

I'll take my map, a compass, and cardinal direction knowledge any day over a mapping program or GPS, that apparently leads people "over the river and through the woods".

i kno i have i some how ened up 20 miles away from where i was suppose to be after that i went out and bought a gps  system

Mapquest has screwed me more than a few times. I use Google Maps now.

Not lost, but it did try to make me drive through a fence and off a 15 foot wall. Good times!
