  1. Those born within the sound of Bow bells are real Londoners (or Cockneys)

  2. It really depends what you mean by a Londoner.  If you mean people born in London then lots but lots of people born in London move out.  However a lot of people born elsewhere moved to London when they were younger and stayed and consider themselves Londoners (like me).  I've been in London for 10 years and definitely consider myself a Londoner.  In London we celebrate that people come from all different backgrounds and walks of life and it is this that makes us a special and wonderful city.  In short, it doesn't matter to us in London - we're all Londoners and all have something to contribute.

  3. Not many now.  All the true Londoners  have moved out to suburbs and home counties.   Place has been taken and over run by immigrants and foreigners.

  4. 8 million people live in london

6 million english nationals who were born and raised in london that makes them a londoner

the other 2 million immigrants who have moved to london are called adopted londoners

  5. Depends what you mean. Define your terms a bit better.

Currently, according to the last census , there are around 8 million Londoners.....people living wthin the Greater London area.

Anyone at all born within Greater London can reasonably call themselves a "Londoner", or anyone who just lives within Greater London might equally do the same. If there is one city in the world that doesn't care where your fore-fathers came from, its London.

If you actually mean "Cockneys", then that has always been a small figure, since very, very few people are born within the sound of Bow bells, as there are no hospitals anywhere near the St. Mary-le-Bow church in the City, which is where the bells are.

  6. St Mary-Le-bow, in cheapside is the church what you should have been within earshot of when born, to be deemed a real cockney,  not Bow in east London, as most people think.

  7. Hardly any. Full of Arabics in SW1- Kensington - Chelsea area, loads of Asian in Piccadilly, Full of Indians, Middle Easterners and Eastern Europeans everywhere and Black in Hackney, Elephant & Castles. Lots more ..........

  8. Depends on how you define a Londoner...

  9. That is a bit like asking how many people who live in England are English. No offence to anyone

  10. Not sure of the exact pop of London today, think it's about 8-million, of which 8-million are Londoners but not all born here naturally.

You don't have to be born in London to be a Londoner.  In fact it is one of the few cities on earth where you just become a Londoner really.

Just make the rules up as you go along.

The last census was in 2001. . . .the latest pop figs for London and the UK

Population of LondonBecause of this, there are many conflicting definitions of London and Greater London and the population of London varies accordingly. ...

  11. Depends on your definition of a Londoner. Somone born there? Someone living there?

The population of Greater London is roughly 7/8 million but I doubt anyone could tell you how many are "Londoners"

  12. 14,121,263.

  13. if your from london your a londoner.the bow bells thing is just for cockneys in the east end of london
