  1. yes.

    yes.

    its easier.

  2. Nope, my boyfriend and I live together and have two seperate accounts.  We both work and are responsible for our own finances.  Our condo is in his name, though.

We don't because we want to take care of our own personal finances.  He has a lot more debt than I do because of student loans, but he also has a much higher paying job as he is a college graduate and I am still trudging through my education.  We split the cost for groceries, though.

As of now, we have no children and one spoiled brat puppy.

  3. We have always had joint accounts...no children, thank the Good Lord!!!!!!!

  4. Yes.  It works fine .... 30 years so far.  We talk about major purchases before we make them but do not have to explain to each other what we spend routinely.  We had to pool our income to pay our bills (the mortgage rate got up to 15.5% in the 1980s) so it made perfect sense to have a joint account.  No children - neither of us ever wanted any.

  5. I don't because we don't live together...

  6. No.  We simply have not put one together.  We were married a little more than a year ago (April of 07).  We have separate accounts at separate banks and trust our banks whom we have always had good service with.  It has always worked well for us.

    We have no children.

  7. Married, no kids, joint checking/debit cards. We're also jointly on a Visa and a Sears card. Why? It's just easier that way. Only one account to keep track of.

  8. my bf and i have a daughter together but we keep our accounts seperate. if we ever do marry it will stay that way. it's something we have discussed and seperate accounts is just the way we like it.

  9. My parents do. I personally think the best set-up is one account for each spouse for personal spending, as well as a joint account for family spending.

  10. I have never had and would never want a joint account with a partner. Both pay half for bills, the rest of your money is your own.

Unless one partner is at home with the children and has no income I really don't see any point.

  11. We have a joint savings account that we deposit money in for medical emergencies, home decorating, car problems, and general life obstacles. We have a joint checking account for bills and we have seperate checking accounts for our own personal use.

We have twins on the way.

  12. Me.

    Makes life easier.

    No kids.

  13. no i dont and never will and thats that

  14. Yes, we have a joint account.  My husband is away quite often, sometimes for longish periods, and he likes to be able to have access to our money in case of emergencies etc.  Despite the fact that he earns it, he always refers to it as "our" money.

  15. We share an account because we are married. We have a 9 month old son.

  16. Not I. The one and only account is in my husbands name.

  17. ya...it gets kinda complicated

    1. joint for bills

    2. joint saving/emergency checking

3-4 we both have own checking (bs play money)

    5. long term saving

ya i have a little one...the three different accounts is b/c so often with him in the military.  Talking about funds isnt always possible, right that second.  we were bouncing checks left and right, with a single joint account.

  18. MInd your own d**n business!

  19. i have done but i won't be doing it again, ive no problem giving her pocket money though.
