How many people in the world are geniuses? Who are they, and who were they?

How many people are "total" geniuses with an IQ of 200 plus, as well as mastery of several fields?

If a person says they have an IQ of 140, 180, 220... or 300 are they telling the truth?

Because measuring IQ is done in different ways, the actual highest IQ (according to Guiness Book) is held by Marilyn vos Savant with her IQ being measured at 220 and 167...however..if someone tells you they have an IQ over either of these scores, yes, they are lying.

Measuring one's accomplishments is a more valid way of assessing mastery versus their IQ.

EDIT:  I can almost guarantee that anyone (especially on Y!A) that states, "I have an IQ of x*x" and the number is 140 or over, did not take an officially ADMINISTERED IQ test.  I capitalize administered because official IQ tests are administered, and not simply where someone clicks on a button to indicate their answer.

Because, you see, if you are that smart, you are smart enough to have a level of respect for others and the need to brag is more self-serving than accomplishing a social goal.
