  1. I have house dogs because I like house dogs.  My dogs are also not small by any means.  Since I live by myself, I don't have to please anyone but myself so therefore I have dogs that live in the house.

  2. my house is my dog's house. she sleeps on my bed and sits on the couch with me when i watch tv. i don't think it's right to leave small dogs outside over night. they get cold and can become the victim or a possum or some other wild animal. if it's a large dog and the weather is nice i don't see the harm in the dog sleeping outside, i personally couldn't do it but some dogs may even prefer it.

but yep, she's inside 90% of the time and my parents also have their 2 dogs inside. =)

  3. my dog  is an inside dog  a  cocker spaniel  she  goes to the beauty parlor  often  she  is  the  queen  of  the  house  and  trust  me  sleeps  in  bed  with  me  in  my  king  size  bed  many  nights  the  dog  would  not  let  my  husband  in  bed  and  guess  what  i  pat  her  on  the  head  and  say  good  girl  lol

  4. you should never leave your dog outside for the night. i let mine in. he just hangs around where i sit. when im on the couch he sits beside me on the floor. at night, he sleeps in the corner of my bedroom.

  5. I do, I got a Jack Russell Terrier and a Boxer.  They are family :]

Only the little one gets the couch and bed though, because the other is too big...

  6. The only time my dog is outside is when I take her out to go potty on a leash. She is never tied out and she is never just let out by herself. She is a complete and total house dog.

  7. I have 5 dogs and all 5 are indoor/outdoor.  They all sleep inside at night.  They are in and out during the day.

  8. I have 3 dogs in the house - a GSD and two mutts, one large, one small. They go out to the potty, to go for a walk or run around the yard.Otherwise, they live in the house. They have a fit if I leave them outside alone for too long. They cry and howl to be let in with me. I have had outside dogs before, but I would never, ever have one again, and my dogs had a huge fenced yard, warm dog houses, toys and each other to play with.Still, they don't get as much attention as indoor dogs, especially in the winter.Dogs belong in the house with their "pack." It is good that you can bring the dog in every day, though,so he's better off than a lot of dogs who never see the inside of a house, but spend their entire lives on the end of a chain, all alone.

  9. I would feel lost without my dog in the house. He is like my child..... and i couldnt imagine leaving my child outside all the time.

  10. My dogs all stay in the house. My two Miniature Pinschers sleep in the same bed as me and my Great Dane sleeps on our couch. I believe that dogs should always sleep in the house and I will always let my dogs in the house, on my bed, on the couch, basically any where they want to go. My dogs are very spoiled.

  11. I always let my dog in! He is part of the family. He knows better not to go on the couch or bed unless if we let him and he has a big doggy pillow to sleep on.

  12. I've got a black lab and put up baby gates in the kitchen and keep him there over night. One of the whole reasons for having a dog is so they can guard your house... However during the day i let him outside into the back yard to run around and stretch and what not.

  13. I let my dog stay in the house all the time and we live on a farm. There are to many wild animals ( such as coyotes and foxes) out there to just leavee him there. If he gets "muddy" ( like i said i live on a farm its not mud) I just hose him down before I bring him in.

  14. What's the point of keeping a dog if it's going to be outside? Dogs are social animals and should be allowed to be with you whenever it wants.

  15. I let my dog in the house but my parents don't like animals in the house. I have 2 in the house and 1 outside. The outside one is a basset and she shed alot. My 2 shih tzu's don't shed much so they are in the house. They sleep in bed with me sometimes and sometimes on the floor. It really is just a personal choice.

  16. My dog is in the house all the time except twice a day when I take him out for walks/park trips, or of course when we go on outings. He's an indoor dog though, and would not be happy outside. Other dogs wouldn't be happy inside all day, and would need more exercise and space. I think it depends on the dog, but personally I wouldn't want to leave any dog outside to sleep by itself. So sad... :-(

  17. Two dogs, both are inside animals. They sleep in my daughters room. When we leave the house, we have zone collars to help keep them away from the couch but other than that they are great!!

  18. The ones that are happy in the house are in. The ones that prefer to be outside stay outside unless they want to come in. Even when they come in, its like a short visit then they let everyone know they want to go back out. We don't stop them from coming in, but we don't make them stay in either. We have puppy doors in the front door and the back.

  19. I have four dogs. They are part of my family, well really my family.

I have a dog door so they have the run of the house and the yard. They are all around me as I type this. They sleep on my bed, the couch or where ever they want.

We have over thousands of years domesticated dogs. Some have been put to work, and they are good at it, others have become pets. Mine are pets and will be treated as such.

  20. Outside when we're not home - puppy in the puppy pen and the older dog free to roam the yard (5 acres).  When home, inside if they're not wet or dirty - puppy loves to swim in the pool.  They sleep outside on the verandah at night - puppy in the puppy pen on the verandah.

PS.  The puppy (BS Malinois) is bigger than the older dog (Australian Kelpie).

When we rented a house and only had the older dog he was allowed under the house (highset house) and had free access from there to outside.  On the few occasions he did come inside he went crazy.  Now he is used to coming inside and is more settled.

I also respect other people's rights to not have animals in their home.  Their home, their choice.  My parents fall into that category.

  21. My dog is an indoor dog, as most dogs should be.  He goes outside when he wants to during the day, but he stays indoors after dark unless he's on a leash and goes outside to pee or poo.

  22. my 4 big dogs are tied out the majority of the day, they like it outside. 3 of the 4 of those dogs come inside at night, only one is a complete outside dog. my little dog only goes out to go potty or if i am outside.

  23. My dogs are in the house.   They sleep there, too.   They give us so much, the least I can do is let them have the comforts of the house.

I'm afraid that I just don't understand people who don't have critters.  I know they exist, but I don't get it.

  24. All people who own dogs should be letting their dogs in the house. How absurd. You should not be a dog owner if you don't allow your dog in the house. That is totally un acceptable!Even working dogs like hearding dogs, sporting dogs, and sled dogs are allowed to come inside and be a part of the pack (aka family).Just because you let the dog in the house does not mean that you have to let them sleep on your couch or in your bed.You could even restrict your dog to certain areas of the house with baby gates. Dogs are pack animals and thrive on interaction and relationships with other pack members,ie: other dogs and/or human beings in the home. Your dog will develop serious issues if deprived of this essential method of socialization.

  25. Both of my dogs are indoors. Actually, I have gotten used to it, but when we visit my in laws they prefer not to have any animals in their house, but will tolerate it for short periods. My mom allows our older dog inside, but claimed our puppy would have to stay in a crate. :S I think she was kidding, at least I hope so. My only problem is the younger dog insist on getting on the furniture and I'm not too fond of that.

  26. I have smalls dogs and they both sleep in my room with their own beds. I love my babies and would never let them sleep outside. That's just me though. If my babies were big, they'd have to stay outside though.

  27. My dog is out most of the day. But at night his has free run of the house. He also is trained not to potty in the house. If he does go it is always on the rug (mat) by the door. I keep him in at night because it makes me feel safer

  28. I have 4 dogs and all are house dogs. Two of them sleep in our bed and the other two sleep in doggie crates. They have a fenced in yard that they play in but they are usually inside with us!

  29. Why would anyone keep a dog outside...they love to be loved..I have 2 English Bulldogs and they are inside unless its play time...they sleep with me me everynight...Why would anyone get a dog and make it stay outside...thats awful...I would put MIL outside and bring the dog in...

  30. My dog lives in the house, he's a member of the family.  He goes outside for walks, to potty and to play, but he's definitely a housedog.

  31. I have a miniature poodle and he stays inside. IIn-fact he only goes outside alone if he is on a leash, and then he is outside for only short periods of time.
