How many people on average join AIFS Summer Advantage the summer before junior year?

I'm looking into applying for the AIFS Summer Advantage Program this summer, the summer before my junior year. Although on the site it says that you just have to be over 16 to apply, it seems like most of the people who do this sort of thing have completed their junior year of high school. If I go I don't want to feel like the odd-ball young one...

so if anyone who's gone, who knows someone who's gone, or just knows anything about this topic could help, I'd really appreciate it.

THANKS! :]

  1. im currently a junior and im most likely going to the AIFS summer program thing to Granada, Spain.

I emailed the people with a few questions about this program, and one of it was about age.  They said that yea, most are recent juniors & seniors.

however, i asked specifically for the granada, spain 4week program, so it might be different for the one you want to do.

you should email them : )

  2. Hey. I studied abroad with AIFS Summer Advantage last summer. I went to Salamanca, Spain. There were about 42 of us (thought 2 people got homesick and left pretty early.) For the Salamanca program, you had to be 17 to apply (though some of us turned 17 during the program.) Everyone in my program had completed their junior year and two people had completed their senior year. Either way, Salamanca was the only program that required we be 17. When we spent the first weekend in London, we were there with the Italy group (which had an age requirement of 16.) Therefore, there were some kids who had just completed sophomore year. I recommend you go! It was the best month of my life!
