  1. I don't know the actual figures, but we tend to go solo in our cars when going to work. There are no such things as car pool lanes here and no incentive to convince people to share their drives.

    The only times when we do it, is when the transportation workers go on strike.

    However, I must admit that things are starting to change a little. There are a few sites on the internet that offer to connect people who need to go at the same place at the same time.

    As for doctors, all that I can say is that when I call mine, I can get an appointment on the very same day or the following one.

    I hope that my answer is not useless even if I can't give you figures...
