I guess, it`s all the same, if I`m unhappy due to sentimental reasons, I am with or without all the gadgets.

  1. When I was very young we had a party line for a phone, a perk-a-lator making coffee, eggs and milk were delivered.I am not real old either. Just a small rural town

  2. Nice question. I remember reheating food before microwaves. That makes me sound old. When was the last time you saw a pager, or someone ACTUALLY talking on a pay phone.

It seems like even though we have come up with new ways to communicate and new gadgets, but people still can't get their message across.

  3. Jesus uses a Blackberry (tm). DUH!

To answer your question: YEAH, I do, but isn't it crazy to think of life before e-mail --- or Jesus(copyright 21 A.D.) forbid -- Yahoo Answers(tm).

(tm) trademark...don't want to get sued over infringement. Ahhh, the wonders of technology. We can file a lawsuit over the use of the alphabet.

  4. I remember when...

I am sorry that you are unhappy.  Remember, gadgets can bring momentary happiness but, for lifelong happiness, you have to turn to Jesus.

  5. How did we survive without all this modern technology to do everything for us at a moment's whim? I just don't know!

(Actually I live in the country where cell phones don't get reception unless you stand in the right place and the internet is still measured in kbps. I'm completely okay with or without the gadgets. )

  6. I'd like to go back to time without mobile phones cos they're just one big nuisance.  At the same time, I get panicky if I don't have mine with me when I go out!

  7. I like the convenience of it, but yeah e-mail won't magically bring happiness just make life easier. Except it did keep my parents from killing me over long-distance phone bills, so that is a plus.

Also, I'm slightly confused, what has Jesus got to do with email?

  8. I grew up without all of the new technology today (microwaves, cell phones, computers/e-mail, etc). I remember reheating food on the stove or in the oven (got a microwave, low wattage, when I was in my late teens). I remember actually having to call or write to someone on paper in order to get ahold of someone (got a computer with internet when I was in my late 20's). I remember watching tv in black and white when I was really young (got a color one when I was under 10). I remember actually going outside to play with my friends instaed of playing video games on the computer or a game system, actually getting sunshine and fresh air rather than sitting around getting fat and lazy.

I enjoy the new technology/gadgets of today, and admit that I don't do well without the Internet, but I do think that much of what new technology brings is laziness in some people. This in turn can bring about unhappiness. New technology isn't there to make us happy, just to make our lives easier.
