How many people think ADHD/ADD is just some lame excuse for lazy parents?

I'm not sayin the kid is lazy I am sayin the parents are lazy cause their kid may not understand something or the parents just don't have patience with the kid then the parents or even teachers turn around and say the kid has the "ADD/ADHD disorder" when I think it's the parents or teachers have "ADD/ADHD". I don't care if it's proven, it just seems to be the biggest thing parents/ teachers throw out there when they don't have patience with a child whether it's because the child is excitable or doesn't understand something. When a child is not excitable is when I think something's wrong cause normally children tend to be happy until someone makes them feel happiness is not okay or hurts them.

I totally agree, my cousin is lazy he get checks for juz being a lazy ***, he party and act normally, he juz dont wont to work, i believe that if you can walk talk read, and write, then you should be workin

Hold on, you don't seem to know what your talking about because ADHD kid have hyper activity and the last thing mine was is lazy, held 2 jobs in high school, passed with flying colours, bought his own computers and hd wall mount screen. But yes, it's the excuse lazy teachers and lazy parents use !!!  Eighty percent of the kids diagnosed, are ordered too by the educational systems teachers.  If you refused, they can and do, put your kid out.

    Secondly, there are two kinds of "lazy" parents, the ones who've be dragged and beaten down by life and given up.

     And the one's who were lazy teenagers that never grew up!! Much like most teenagers, they don't know the meaning of responsibility, argue about chores and cleaning their rooms, wanted to hang out rather than work, stay up all night and sleep in the day, act like money grows on tree's, don't obey rules, don't get along with parents and siblings, don't like getting told what to do, etc.

     Difference being, the age, most teens grow and learn. A small percentage don't, they sit and r****d, think that age alone matures them enough to s***w around, then can't handle the work or consquences, wait for the world to clean up and pay them what their owed.

      It's realy just a big misunderstanding, the wrong person is getting the diagnosis and medicine.

I do, but I think it has more to do with teaching your kids and having consistent dicipline than anything else (and no I'm not just talking about spanking your kid.. just thought I'd say before someone has a cow about it.).

well i kno i got two thumbs downs but i totally agree with u and thats exactly what my bfs mom did to him when he was little she didnt want to deal with himshe wanted to drink and party and have boyfriends over so she would dope him up on medication so he wouldnt be in her hair funny thing is his dad said when he would have him on the weekends he never once gave him his medication and he was always good a little hyper but nothing a good parent couldnt handle. its all in the parenting.

Here is how I look at it....I am showing my age here....25 years ago when I was in elementary school, I did not know 1 single kid with ADHD/ADD....now my youngest son has over 10 kids in his class with it.  That tells me something.
