  1. It caters to multicultural people. More people means more work.

  2. And many hands makes for light work. The more different viewpoints we have to draw from, the easier it can be to accomplish tasks and achieve our goals.

The key is to maintain an open mind, a perspective that we do not automatically know an answer to a problem. Find out how the Ojibwe tribe would have dealt with a situation, look to the Romans for clues about how to succeed, see what the Ainu and ancient Egyptians did that helped them. Investigate the Olmec and Inca, look to modern day France and Germany, see what your neighbors do.

The more you have to work with, the better your chances of survival. Think about it like this:

Bigger gene pool, greater survival rate of the organism. Smaller gene pool, greater chance of a single factor killing off the species.

  3. Multiculturalism can be a positive aspect of society, but whether it "works" is another question.  There is always some degree of conflict between groups (as is human nature to demonstrate outgroup biases).  For example, Canada is celebrated as a truly multicultural society that embraces differences, however, this is not the case everywhere.  There is tension between the Anglophone and Francophone, and also between the various First Nations.  Multiculturalism and its acceptance requires work and vigilance for discrimination (all aspects), but if/when it does work, the people within that society are much richer for it.  So yes, it works - but requires work to make it work!

  4. It works because its the best way foreward and adds flavour and variety!
