How many people will sell their cars if gas goes over $5?

If gas prices continue to skyrocket, how many people will sell their cars, move closer to work, etc? I've already sold mine and bought a monthly bus pass....saving tons!

I'd prefer to ride my bike to work, this way I would

a)help the environment

b) exercise

c) save money

BUT I have to drop off my child at daycare before work so this option would not work for me!

I plan to buy a more fuel efficient vehicle, maybe a hybrid?

You now take the bus to work? This must take more time and be more inconvenient for you than driving your own vehicle. You have to weight time and convenience vs gas prices.

But I agree with your decision to sell your car and take the bus it helps the environment! Look at France where lots of people ride their bikes to work! It's great!

I think the U.S should make a law that no one can make/sell any cars that are under 15 MPG. Its costing us all fortunes and ruining our enviornment

that's what the libs want you to do, insted looking for ways of lowering gas prices,like more drilling so we can be more independent from foreign oil, look at the cars in Europe, small really small, and they pay like 3 or 4 dollars more per gallon,not everyone can move into the apt above where they work.

yeah taking the bus has definitely helped me save a lot of gas. but the reality is that gas prices will never go down but only keep rising because of the limiting supply and also just simply because of the yearly 3% economic inflation. i'm definitely not going to sell my car because that would be a loss of investment. a loss of thousands compared to just few more dollars pumping at the gas and all the time wasted by using other methods of travel is not worth it. opportunity cost, gotta think about that. but yeah we all wish gas was $1 or whatever just not gonna happen
