Just curious how many pets people think is too many. I have a dog, cat, and 2 gerbils. I really want a guinea pig but I think that would be too many. How many pets does everyone have and how many do you think is too many?

  1. I would not get it they need lots of attention if you their is only one of them.

  2. When you don't have enough time or money to take care of the all the animals, and can't afford a vet if needed.

But as long as you can do those things, then there is never to many.

I have one cat, one parakeet, three bunnies, one guinea pig and one mouse.

  3. My friend has:

    -1 dog

    -2 turtles

    -2 budgies

    -1 goat

    -1 miniature horse

    -1 donkey and...

    -1 llama!

Haha, and she doesn't live out in the country either, northern suburbs of Sydney, Australia.

But I think if you love your pets and can care for them, then there is no real limit.

  4. I have a dog and 3 gerbils, and my brother has 3 gerbils. I think as long as you can properly take care of all of them then each person has their own limit to how many animals they can handle at one time. Also it depends, what the animals are. Like 3 fish would be much easier to take care of than like...3 rabbits.

For me, i could definitely handle another pet if it was something pretty low maintenance.

  5. Too many varies from person to person.  Too many is one more than you can afford to care for and/or one more than you have time to give to.  Myself, I have 5 dogs, 7 cats, 6 horses, 18 koi, and a very vocal obnoxious parrot.  For some people, that would probably be too many.  For others, not enough.  But one is too many if a person can't afford to care for it properly.  Or, like when we had the show kennel, we had on average around 30 dogs, plus the horses, cats, etc.  We were able to care for them, so it wasn't too many for us.

  6. Its only too many if you cant take care of them.

  7. too many is when they take over the home, you can't afford tolook after them properly or the home stinks from pets.

i have 3 cats , 3 cockatiels, and a tank of tropical  fish

  8. I personally think that when you cant take care of them it is to many.In my family of 4, I have 2 dogs(Layla and Sam)+2 cats(Itty Bitty Kitty and Rosie)+1 bird(Bird)+8 fish(Nemo, Toots, Oranges, Itty Bitty Fishy, Sucker, Friends, Loola, and Speedy)=13 pets. We take care of them, love them, and they behave wonderful. So when you cant take care of them, stop, and think. You know when you have to many.

  9. Well as long as they are all well cared for it really doesn't matter.

    I have 3 dogs, 1 cat

  10. When you do not have the time/money for them all

  11. It depends where you live. Her in Tecumseh(a small town), we can only have 2 dogs. 4 max. pets. I have 4 dogs, two ferrets adn two sisters. So I definetely think it's fine to have too many and you can never have too amny.

  12. When u can't manage too care, spend money, or spend time with them everyday.

  13. I have way too many, I have 7 cats, three guinea pigs and one bird.  It is very stressful and I wish I didnt have so many, but I love animals so much.  But the smount I have is way too many, believe me:D

  14. There is never to many as long as you are properly taking care of each pet. Make you sure have enough time to spend with the animals. My boyfriend and i have a Finch, a bearded dragon, 2 gerbils and a puppy. Then there are also the crickets for the dragon which is pretty much like taking care of another "pet". As long as you can spend enough time with the animals, have the time and the money to ensure they are in the best of help then go ahead! But make sure you know what your getting into before you get the animal. Good Luck!
