  1. I'm sure some sort of logical estimate could be made - based on how many pharaohs we know about and how many we've already found.

    This article is quite interesting!

  2. I think it's unlikely that there are many if any left to find. I went to the Valley of the Kings this year, there are if I remember correctly 67 tombs there, only some are open to the public, I went into three.

The reason I think there won't be many others discovered, is that King Tut's was discovered by accident, but Howard Carter knew it was there somewhere, I don't know if there are any others known to remain undiscovered.

One of the reasons why Tut's tomb remained undiscovered for so long, was that his tomb, like five others was built underground, not into the side of the mountain.

One of the most interesting facts I learnt while I was there, was that, one sunny day in 1137bc, Ramses V1 was buried in a tomb about a hundred yards from his nearest neighbour, Tut, but while they had been excavating Ramses tomb, they unknowingly put all the rubble on top of poor old Tut who had been buried 186 years earlier.

I took photographs of the tombs together ,and will gladly email them to anyone who is interested, if I have their email address I can attach it to.

I havn't seen any other photographs of both tombs together anywhere.

  4. We can't know - because they haven't been discovered yet. Doh.
