I just bought a sony cybershot dsc-700 and i was wondering how many pictures does the sony memory stick pro duo hold

Buying the Pro DUO is overkill, because the S700 doesn't have the ability to record very high quality movies (it only records movies at 320x240). The Duo would have been good enough.

Anyway, you will be able to shoot up to 279 high quality (7M) images per 1GB. You can also shoot up to 44 minutes of movies per 1GB.
