I was told that in Australia they have a 3 pin plug socket similar to ours in the UK however when I bought an adaptor for my trip to Australia it only has 2 pins on it that are slanted, no 3rd pin! Will this work?

  1. Yes it should work, I have a austrailian plug adapter as my friend brought me home a PC.. and the plug broke and now has 2 pins .. but it still works fine!

    Hope this helps! :) x

  2. Yes, it will work, it just means that it is not earthed.

  3. 2 pins work for double insulated appliances. all other appliances must have a third pin [  earth  ] or else ZZZZap.

get an adaptor when you get here.

  4. This is really important: Only use this adapter with appliances that are double insulated. If it is double insulated, there will be a logo of a small square inside a larger square on the label that also tells you voltage, power consumption etc. If you want to use appliances that are not double insulated, you will need a 3-pin adapter plug.

By the way, Silly Sausage, I hope you are still reading this. Your computer may be working just fine now, but if it were to develop an electrical fault, the consequences could be disastrous. I highly recommend that you either fit an Australian plug or obtain a 3-pin adapter before using your computer any further.

  5. 3 is normal but some have 2 it will work
