  1. earth is the largest planet in the local (inner) solar system. it is larger than the three other planets that exist in this part of the solar system. these planets include mercury, venus and mars. that is a total of three planets.

  2. Three major planets (Mercury, Venus and Mars) are smaller in diameter and mass than Earth. Earth has an equatorial diameter of 12,756km, and a mass of 5.9736×10^24kg. Venus is closest to our size, with a diameter of 12,104km and a mass of 4.8685×10^24kg. Mars is much smaller, just over half the diameter of Earth at 6,792km, and 6.4185×10^23kg (roughly one tenth the mass of Earth). Mercury is smaller still, at 4,879km in diameter and a mass of 3.3022×10^23kg.

There are also four officially recognised "dwarf planets" (Pluto, Eris, Ceres and Makemake), plus a slew of other bodies such as large trans-Neptunian objects that could also be counted, such as Quaoar, Sedna, Orcus, 2003 EL61 and many more. Even the biggest of these, Eris, is only about 1,300km across, and Ceres, the largest known body in the asteroid belt but smallest of the recognised dwarf planets, is just 487km across.

  3. 3 if you include Pluto, which has recently been reclassified.

Mercury and Venus being the others.  Mars is roughly the same size as earth. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are all larger

  4. Three. Mercury, Venus, and Mars are all smaller than Earth.

  5. pluto is gone XD prolly 3

  6. Mercury, Venus and Mars are all smaller than Earth and so is Pluto. So if you count Pluto as a planet, there are 4 planets smaller than Earth in our solar system.

  7. you should determine whether you mean smaller in space or mass. hte answers are different for both. density is ever important mwahahaha.

  8. i think 3 or maybe 4. pluto, venus, mars? uhm... i forgot

  9. Mars, Mercury and Venus - but Venus is nearly as large as Earth (94%).
