  1. Nine planets with Pluto the planet discovered 16 years before I was born, and Pluto the pup came into Mickey's ownership 15 years before I was born.  I don't want to mess with either Pluto's designation regardless of what the big shots say.

  2. I think 9..Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune,Uranus, Pluto....

Recently, the news said Pluto was found as NOT a planet..just a big meteorite, ice cube or whatever...anyways they said science books need to be changed...

  3. Nine.

  4. My very eager mother just sleeps until noon period.

each word was a planet. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Earth, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto...that was the order !

  5. 9....     But now its 8 because Pluto has been down graded to a planetoid.   They did this because its not round....   Stand by for news..   They may upgrade it again

  6. 62 years old.  Was told that it was nine.  Now I believe it's eight.

  7. Seven.  I'm old.  LOL

  8. I was told that there were 9 planets

  9. nine

  10. I'd say about nine....that is, until they excluded that icey planet.

  11. 9! Pluto was still there. =/

  12. OMG! I was reading through the answers, and I was really wrong. I thought there were 12-13. Hmmmm. Maybe I slept through Science. I guess that's why my grades were so bad.

  13. the solar system was not in the books i learn from - did not know about it until i receive the discovery channel!!!

  14. There were 9 planets when I went through school, and gosh darn it, there's going to be 9 until I die! */spit into a spittoon*

Just kidding, yeah I know there's only 8 now, but at least the minor planets get called "plutoids", so that's some small consolation prize for Pluto hehe.

  15. Of course I can remember. . .Duh. . . .Science changes on a regular basis. . .why would you think it wouldn't?

  16. Mr. Daniels was first to discuss serious science in 7 th grade but he was over-fond of making quoted references to his Bible instead of the

standard public school format.  The number of planets was not in his

Holy Bible.  We did hear repeated references to stars, stellar omens,

and the like.  He was called to our Principals office in mid-term and

never came back.  Miss Pefil was our substitute and she didn't talk

about planets either but did introduce us to geography.

  17. I thinkk 9.  I'm going to keep Pluto, because it's such a friendly little name.

  18. they told me 9 but i know its now 8 (pluto no longer counts)

  19. nine with possibly a tenth but it was too far away and they always said they questioned pluto because of its orbit. of course now its 8

  20. nine - oh great now i have that stupid catchy song stuck in my head!!!! ooo well...

  21. yeah 9

back in the good ol days when pluto was a planet

    haha
