Okay, I realize the question is worded oddly, but it was the best way I can describe it in the space allowed. I want to do an experiment... If I made a completely air-tight area with windows for the sun to get in, or installed UV lighting to support plant life, how many plants/trees would need to be in the area so that if a person was in there for any amount of time that the plants and trees would continually produce enough oxygen to allow the person to have a constant air supply? This is for a project I want to work on to create a closed-in eco-system and I know there are many other things involved, but right now I just want to know the answer to this, or if anyone knows of a website that can help me out.

  1. it is hard to tell by wat u have given, because it also depends on the size of the area. i would say that one large tree per 1000 square foot area. but you will also need the air to be circulated, the tree will suffocate eventually though because one person is not enough for all the oxygen. hope this helped!
