  1. 25 on the active roster, and 40 in all. The other fifteen are either in the minors, usually Triple-A, (though the Cardinals used to have a guy in Double-A on the 40 man roster who wasn't a standout prospect), or on the 15 day disabled list.

  2. 25 players, around 11 pitchers and 9 everyday starters, 1-2 backup catchers, and a couple of utility guys.

  3. 40

  4. From the beginning of the season to Sept 1 teams can have no more than 25 players on the active major league roster.

After September 1st the rosters can be expanded to up to 40 players.  This gives teams that are out of the playoff hunt a chance to get a look at some of their minor leaguers to see if they can use them in the future.

  5. 25 players are put on the line up and there are 9 position  players including a pitcher.

  6. Every MLB team has 25 players on it until September. Then, They call up certain players from there minor league affiliates so they have a roster of 40 until the end of the regular season. If they make the playoffs, They reduce there roster back down to 25.

  7. 25 players are on an active roster. typically, a team will have 10-13 pitchers, 2 catchers, the balance infielders and outfielders.
