Many are starving, because the badly needed money to feed them is being spent on a useless war and other monies are being spent foolishly, So therefore millions of people are starving because of the greed of some people!

It is currently estimated that over 1 billion people around the world live in extreme poverty, that is they live on less than $1 a day. Also, it is estimated about 2.8 billion people are living in what could be called 'moderate' poverty, that is they live on between $1 and $2 a day.

Every year more than 8 million people die as a result of poverty related causes.

About 800 million people go to bed hungry every night

A child dies every three seconds as a result of extreme poverty.
