every runner that makes it to home plate safely is 1 run (they're called runs, not points). If there are runners on, then a home run drives them in, plus the batter scores, so its 1 run for the batter, plus 1 run for everyone who was on base. For example: If there are no runners on base, you hit a home run that's 1 run for your team.

If there is 1 runner on base and you hit a homerun that runner will score and you score making 2 runs.

If there are 2 runners on base, and you hit a home run, those runners score and you also will score making 3 runs.

If there are 3 runners on base, with your home run, that's a grand slam making 4 runs.
