How many points is this foul worth in snooker?

if i nominate black (or on black as the last object ball) and miss the black, is that 4points of 7points to my opponent?

Also say if a red is my object ball, if i pot the ball and foul in the same shot, say the white goes in or knocks a color in, do i still get the point from potting the red?

If you nominate a colour then you miss it, the foul is worth the 4 points or the value of the colour, which ever is the greater.

If you pot any ball on a foul, then you forego all the points from that pot.

your 1st question........the foul is 7 points.

2nd question..........you do not get the point for potting the red.

it is a foul 4 unless you knock in the blue then it is a 5 point foul,6 point foul for the pink,7 point foul for the black!!!

7 points is the penalty for any foul on the black and you don't get the points for the red if you pot it and foul
