How many pounds of force is needed to crush a pop can?

The answer will depend on whether you are asking about a full, or empty can.  Also, it depends on whether you want to crush it lengthwise, or sideways.

An empty can, sideways is pretty low (not even a pound I think).

Lengthwise it is a few pounds, maybe 5-10.

For a full can (not opened) you're talking about hundreds of pounds.
