  1. You need 1.48 cubic yards of gravel and dry gravel weighs between 2600 and 2800 lbs. per cubic yard depending on it's size.  So figuring an average of 2700 lbs. per cubic yard you would need 3996 pounds.  Two tons.

  2. 160 square feet at 3 inches deep = 1.5 yards of gravel.

How much that will weigh depends on what sort of gravel it is.  For that much gravel, though, you'll likely be buying by the yard, not by weight.  I hope you have a strong back -- that's a lot of gravel to lug from the driveway where you'll probably have it dumped into the beds where you want them.  I'd try to bribe some friends to come over with wheelbarrows and shovels to help out.

  3. 2.5 tons.  you don't buy gravel by the pound. the amount will also vary due to the fact that pea size gravel covers more square footage than larger stone.  have fun hauling! we just completed our cobblestone patio and my back is still aching...lol

  4. it varies on the size, pea gravel will use alot more weight while grey trap wouldnt

normally they go by the yard anyways but i would guess off hasnd a couple yards would easily do it from whatever u choose

1 yard is pretty heavy so unless you have a vehicle to haul it

go for a 1/2 yard then see how much cover you get then estimate how many mor yards you need that way
