How many protein shakes should I take if I want to get ripped? Not to bulk up, just burn fat doing cardio and weight lifting (small weight, hogh reps ) Is one enough after a workout or should I have on before and after?

  1. I have always heard an easy rule of thumb is 1.5 protein per pound every day.


  2. With high rep weight lifting, your muscles won't really get ripped, even if you drank 30 shakes a day. You will slowly build muscle. If you are trying to give your body a good amount, look at your diet and figure out about how much protein you get anyway from what you tend to eat (nutritiondata.com is a good site for this). If you want to be on a muscle building diet, get about 80-90 g of protein a day, and tune your protein shakes to that level.
