Question:

How many pruns will unclog me? ?

I am 5 1/2 mths prego and I have been constipated for 3 days. I have tried everything from stool softeners, suppositories, caffeine and nothing is working. I did go buy prunes as alot of people say how good they work, Im just not sure how many I should eat as none of the above has helped.

Can someone please help me? Im dying!!

  1. I would recommend only a small amount, like 3-4 of them. Try that, if that doesn't work, try a few more. You don't want to eat too many and get diarrhea either. Try other fiber rich foods such as leafy vegetables- lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, those sort of things.  When all else fails, I drink fiber drinks such as Metamucil, which is more gentle than a lot of alternatives.   3. A laxative like milk of magnesia not good idea during pregnancy.

    You really need to let your Dr. know.  You might be getting to much iron,that can cause constipation. Try to eat more fruit and veggies, lots of water also.....Call your Dr...

    edit: they have a serving amount on box, try that first, doesn't work add an extra one each time you eat them til you get some movement...

  4. Have you tried Milk Of Magnesia?  that stuff works wonders!  If you are feeling impacted though, you may want to go to the Dr.

    s for prunes, they have never worked for me

  5. usually i just eat a lot of fruit like grapes or watermelon and it will go away

  6. eat arund 4-5 prunes. Make sure you have a book to read and airf fresher for after ward. Reason I know this, my dad eats 4-5 prunes every breakfast and you DO NOT use that particular bathroom when he comes out of it. You call in the Material Hazard team. God luck and hope things come out okay for you.

  7. ugh, I know how you feel. one time during my pregnancy I was constipated for more than a week (I lost count after 8 days) and when I finally was able to poo it felt like bricks.  Ive tired everything as well.

    All I can say is drink lots and lots of water and just wait it out and when you do poo try not to strain too much.
