How many pucks are used during an NHL game?

Just ONE puck is used at all times during an NHL game. If a second puck comes onto the ice, play is immediately stopped.

I work for an NHL team. We are required to provide 48 frozen pucks per game. Obviously we don't use them all, especially since the nets were put in behind the goals to protect the fans. I would say anywhere from 20 to 30 are used per game.

It varies, each team goes through 2000-2200 pucks a year.  That's almost 30 a game.
