Question:

How many pumpkins per plant ?

I have 2 pumpkin plants they are now about 3m long each, and several pumpkins have appeared, how many should i grow on each plant ?It seems a shame to cut growing ones off.

  1. You can let them all grow & see how many they'll produce.

    They should grow the normal size of the variety you have planted if they are watered well,  fertilized & optimal growing conditions  are met.

    "One pumpkin plant will normally produce three to five pumpkins, sometimes more. Miniature varieties will produce up to a dozen or so."

    However, if you are trying to grow a giant pumpkin, first the variety should be of a giant type & then you'll need to select  two of the first pumpkins on the vine & remove the others. The second fruit is insurance in case one fails. Pinch off any that form later.

    You don't need to cut any off if you are growing regular-sized  pumpkins.
