  1. Read what it says on the can.

    A 10 x 10 room would have 40 feet of wall.It it has 8 foot ceilings, that would be 40 x 8 = 320 square feet of wall space. you can deduct from this any door or window space it has,

    A gallon of paint should cover 320 square feet with just a little bit left over - unless you put too much on or spill some.  You should also do it all at once.

  2. For just ceilings and walls and no trim ,as a house painter I would say 1 gallon Trim is your doors, windows, and baseboards.

  3. Assuming the walls are 8 ft high.

    8x10 = 80 sq. ft. x 4 walls = 320 sq.ft. -less the doors and windows.

    I think most paint will cover an average of about 200 sq.ft.per gallon.

    So- about 2 gal.

    One good piece of advice is to buy a paint color off the shelf. Never try to blend a color..if you need more paint- you can never match it again.

    If you buy an already finished color, then you can always match it up if you need to do more.

  4. depending on what color the room is now, i would say if it is a color not easily covered up then one gal kilz and one gal of your color....otherwise if the walls are a light color i would say one gal of your color

  5. 2 gallons

  6. If your painting walls and ceiling, you

    can figure each surface. Height times width equals area of each Wall or ceiling. and add them all up. most paints advertise covering 400 sq feet per gallon. But ask the sales person the coverage area of the paint your buying also.

  7. What is the height of the ceiling? if it is 8' you would have 320 sq ft so you could use a gallon of paint, Now there are a few things you have to consider, How long has it been since the last paint job. This could cause the walls to suck up the paint, so I would get a gallon of Benjamin Moore's FreshStart Primer, you can have them tint the primer if your going to paint a dark color like red or green. these colors will call for three coats of paint. But the other thing is what color are you going to paint ceiling. So here's what we got, 1 gallon of white for ceiling, 1 gallon of primer for walls, 1 gallon of paint depending on color. you should get around 350 sq ft to 400 sq ft per gallon. the cost for these products are going to be around $75.00 but they will hold up very well. Good luck
