I have a ridiculously short drive to work.
Yesterday morning, as I left my garage, the Lynyrd Skynyrd song "Free Bird" came on the radio just as I started the car. And of course that song has one of the rockin' great guitar solos of all time -- 4:25 seconds of riffs. I was pleased to find myself pulling up to work just as the song concluded. My commute is exactly 1.0 Free Birds!
Then, today, just now, amazingly enough as I was leaving work, the radio station is starting to play "Free Bird" right at the beginning of the song. That's two days in a row. Now we have an interesting situation. A 2 day "Free Bird" commute time testing matrix. Lots more traffic on the way back and a longer light on the way so a pretty big test. Well, same situation. The incredible guitar solo took me right up my driveway. Again, 1.0 Free Birds home.
My Free Bird Metric is 1.0. What's yours?
(the radio version of the song is 9 minutes, 7 seconds)
