  1. Tropical rainforests are found in 80 some countries, but then there are also temperate rainforests.  That like asking how many forests there are.... but there are some good rainforest sites online... look at  the link below, it has a map of rainforests on the globe

    http://www.srl.caltech.edu/personnel/kru...

  2. Apparently a lot, because going by the statistics something like a 1,000 acres a day is being destroyed. They have been throwing this around since I was in school, haven't "they" burned it all by now?

  3. The answer is changing all the time on that.40 yers ago rainforest coverd 16% of the earths land  today it's around 6 or 7% .North America is like down to two and South america still has around 2 million acres ,i think . however american corperations are trying to get their grubby litttle hand on that too. They provide 50% of earth oxygen 25% of that is from the Amazon(From Brazil  to Boliva) We (humans) have destroyed our own resources .

There are no "lost" tribes, their hidding!

  4. 4 main tropical (hot, close to the equator) ones, Australia, Amazon, Congo (in Africa), and one in southeast Asia. Lots of little islands have smaller ones.

Three main temparate ones (farther from equator, cooler)

Redwood Forests of California, a forest in southern Chile,

    and another in New Zealand.
