I think the more important questions are

1) How many rape victims have suffered in silence, rather than take on the legal process.

2) How many rape victims who have tried to get justice, have had to endure the added pain, of the perpetrator escaping prosecution.

I hope it does rape is a terrible crime and the crappy jail terms some of them get is ridiculous im all for the victim getting as much out of their attacker as possible.

Depends on whether their rapist has won the lottery or not. There aint many convicted rapists with enough money to make it worth their while sueing.

Good for the victims.  I hope all of them sue.  Rape is about power and losing a lawsuit as well as going to prison will take ALL of the power away from the rapist.

This is a bit of a "one of a kind" but then again ... once the principle is established ...

I suspect we will not see many of these as there are some specifics to this case but never say never.
