I have a brand new .270 win. and im reloading 110gr tsx ballistic tips with AR2208 powder, and im using a charge halway between maximum and minimum. How many times would I be able to reload them?

And is it possible to buy good qaulity unprimed brass for the.270 so that I don't have to buy factory ammunition and fire it before I can reload. and how many relods would I get from that brass? And if you have and tips on naything, feel free to let me know, thanks.

  1. Get a good reloading manual and read it.  Then find somebody who reloads and sit down for a session at the bench and take notes.  Midway, Graff & Sons, just to name a couple sell brass.  Not all brass is created equal; some is brittle and won't reload as well as another one; this is where a hands-on session with a grey haired reloader is worth its weight in gold vis a vis the intel you will gain.  Also, every rifle will have its own individual taste for fodder and what particular load appeals to it.  You will just have to experiment and find out what your rifle's preferences are.

  2. I get the impression you haven't read the reloader's tutorials in your reloading manual, or you have one which assumes you also have the Hornady or Speer manuals which have excellent reloading tutorial sections. http://www.midwayUSA.com, or the others suggested for the manuals and brass, etc. Regards, Larry.

  3. There are too many factors in determining the longevity of brass to give you any reasonable answer on how many reloads you can expect.  I am very careful with my brass and I can get 10 to 20 reloads before it is time to toss it.  New unprimed brass is available from many sources.  Here are just a few:  www.cabela's.com, www.midwayusa.com, www,basspro.com, www.midsouthshooterssupply.com

  4. I am unsure about the amount of reloads from each shell, but I CAN tell you that empty .270 is quite easy to find and buy. Pretty much any store worth it's salt reloading-wise will have empty .270 brass for you to buy.
