  1. lots and loads of em!

  2. What sort of restaurants do you mean ....English ....Chinese.....Indian ...Italian ...mexican....Thai..and many more......The number is uncountable

  3. a bunch.

  4. alot?

  5. TO many to count.

  6. Many thousands.  Not sure if the answer is statistically available   but probably all eating places have to be registered  with the local authority  for  food and hygiene purposes,  so a national figure might  be available from the relevant Ministry... Probably includes restaurants, cafes,  pubs that serve meals,  mobile  snack bars,  coffee shops and all sorts... cafes in department stores etc.  hot dog stands and burger bars  at sports grounds  and all the  burger, chicken , pizza, Chinese. Indian. Thai , fish  and all the the other various  takeaways..    Tens and tens of thousands in total.

  7. Far too many!

good old-fashioned, know-what's-in-it, home-cooked meals meant there was less obesity.

any way for a rough guess off the top of my head,

i'd say over 10,000 uk wide.

you can search the individual links, quoting 50 or more on each one.

    see below.

  8. according to Gordon Ramsey 1 ,his

  9. I will go and count them for you, back in a few minutes

  10. If you use google earth you will know the precise answer.

but it is boring to search for the whole country

  11. Thousands and thousands and thousands.....

  12. As many as there are!

  13. the exact number cant be given to you but you can go to a web site: market research.com , you search there the number of UK restaurants- there is a fee if i am not mistaken in order to get the exact data and stats

  14. There are about 65000 pubs in the UK, about 50% of which sell food above sandwich standard. However, not all pubs have separate eating rooms, so I would not class a pub where one eats in the drinking bar as a restaurant.

I state that a restaurant is an establishment, or part of an establishment  (as in hotels and some pubs), that is dedicated to the service of food, at a table, with waiter/waitress service and with a menu; an establishment that is open to the public, including children. It is separated from the 'caff' (greasy spoon, US Diner) by being open for Dinner (evening meal), by employing napery and metal cutlery (or chopsticks, if Chinese).

This rules out most pubs, all McDonbuggerkfc outlets, 'Joe's Cafe' type sausage and chip emporia and outlets purely devoted to the take-away trade.

I'd estimate about 35000 genuine restaurants, including marginals such as Pizza Hut.

However, if one reduces the definition (as one reduces a sauce) to establishments that do not use, even in part, boxed constituents in meals (prawns in Birmingham?), one might be running at 10,000 pukka establishments.

  16. well i know for sure that there are a total of 679545038 restaurants in the Uk believe me
