How many sattelites are visable with the naked eye from earth???

how many sattelites are visable with the naked eye from earth??? a few nights ago my and my bro saw 7 different sat.' in the space of half an hour???? i thought the I.S.S was the only one visable from earth?

Under the right conditions, MANY satellites are visible without optical aid.  See the website below to generate a list for your location and date. You should be able to see any with a magnitude less than 3 from most sites ... and less than ~6 from REALLY dark sky sites.
