How many schools is it best to visit during the college admissions process?

I plan on applying to about 12-13 colleges, not exactly sure of which ones they are yet, so how many should I visit before the applications process?

Do your research on each college you are thinking about online. Visit their homepages, and follow links to services, connectivity, course offerings, tuition, fees,and so on. Try to narrow your choices from that point down to three. By doing this, you will save a lot of time and money, and visit the ones that meet criteria that is important to you. Visiting more than three gets confusing.

You should visit all the ones you are interested in and a few that you are not so you can have an idea of what type of campus and surrounding area that you enjoy. You might be surprised, some schools that you may not consider may be on the top of your list. Think of it like dating, you need to see if you like to school and the area or not.
