  1. Because Southwest Airlines operates only the Boeing 737, consisting of the 737-300, 737-500, and 737-700, all cabin configurations are set at three seats on each side of the aisle.  Since there are three of you, you should all be able to sit together without a problem.  The other thing about Southwest is that they use an open seating policy (no seat assignments) and board by group numbers.  Basically, the first passengers to check in for the flight will be placed in the first boarding group, which means they will get first choice of seat.  If your flight is pretty full and do not check in very early (one hour or less), then you and your friends will end up boarding after quite a few people and you may not be able to sit next to each other.

  2. There are 6 seats in a row, 3 on each side on southwest planes (they onyl use one kind).

  3. All the 737 are 3 seats on one side then the aisle then 3 seats on the other side. The 737-700 is equip with 137 seats along with the 737-700.

The 737-500 are equip with 122 seats. Except the emergency exit row on both sides has two. So the best seat in the aircraft is the window seat behind the emergency exit row EXTRA leg room.

  4. southwest is an all boeing airline so they are mostly three to a row just like in the picture
