  1. There are only 2 seats in a tractor-trailer cab... therefore, only 2 passengers are legally allowed... the driver and one other person.  Children are allowed if your company allows 'riders'... you sign the passenger waiver... and they are the only other person aside from the driver.  You do sometimes see more than 2 people in a tractor-trailer cab, but they are breaking the law and will be fined if ever stopped by the police.

  2. Short Shrimp is correct...only two seat belts means only two persons allowed in the truck. Bunks have "cargo nets" for co-drivers that might be sleeping while the other driver is driving, but this doesn't qualify as a seat belt. The law is still...two persons to a truck. My company allowed children but the driver needed to purchase insurance on the child (any rider actually) and they needed to know when and how long the rider was going to be on the truck. Rider policies differ with each company. Best thing to do is ask the company what their rider policy is.

  3. I would say that since most 18-wheelers have two seats with a center console then they would only have (2) seat belts and no to a child riding because there would be no seat belt for them and they cannot ride in the rear of the sleeper.........
