How many sets or games in a match?(Old)? (new)? Volleyball?

How many sets or games was in a match before and the current one right now? thanks in advance.

it is been always five sets, and to win you need three. If you win the first three, the game ends. The first four sets require 25 points to win, if the set is 24-24, it is necessary keep playing until a team reaches advantage of two points. And the fifth set is only for 15 points and it is required too two points of advantage.

depending on what age, you either play 2 out of 3... or 3 out of 5.

for sub-varsity teams, they play 2 out of 3. but starting at varsity level in high school, they play 3 out of 5, which is also how they play through college.

most club teams though, play 2 out of 3, no matter age.. just because matches are in tournaments, so it saves time.

but im not exactly sure about before... sorry.

Both "old" and "new" matches could go 5 games (sets), or 3 games (sets) per match.

Normally high-level tournaments would have 5 games (Sets) in a match, with the fifth game (set) shorter (15 points) than others (25 or 30 points).

Some recreational or mid level tournaments only play 3 games (sets) per match. The third game (set) could be a 15 or 25-point game).

Some teencenters play 2 games (sets) per match during "regular season", and 3 games (sets) during play-off.
