How many should I get?

Question

I want to get some female mice, but I don't know how many I should get. I'm planning to keep them in a 10 gallon fish tank and I know how to care for them. How many should I get? Also I want to maybe get a different tank with shelves or a cage. Do you have any recommendations or pictures? Links please? As crazy as you like, I'm just looking for a few ideas and I wouldn't mind connecting a cage to another.

Three is a good amount.  fish tanks are ok, but you should consider getting an actual cage for mice (they will enjoy it more).

2 should be a good number. Because you dont want tour mouse 2 be lonely and u dont want to many with the limited space u have.

i have one female mouse and she is perfectly happy, however i do think it is recommended to have two. also you could get a cage like this one :http://www.petsathome.com/find/category-... it depends on how much money you have to spend. im sure the fish tank will be ok, but make sure the mouse/mice will have lots to do. make sure you dont put male and femalr mice together unless you want lots of little baby mice!

2 mice, 1 male and 1 female. And if you decide to have more mice, you can wait for the mices to gave birth. This can save alots of money.

I dont like fish tanks, they hold moisture and the mice can get respiratory infections.

Get a fine meshed cage (there are cages specifically for mice) and get bird friendly toys are they are easy to clean and safe for mice to chew as well. There are all manner of cages available, they may look good but the best are the most open!

Keep them on a dust free substrate and the best base food is rodent pellets and some dry soup mix (a mix of pulses, grains etc you find at the supermarkets)

I would start with 2 females, any more and they tend to bond with themselves more then with you.
