  1. 1 significant digit:

    720/900=4/5=0.8

    this would be expressed as 0.8 and not 0.80 or 0.8000 etc.


  2. well when you work it out the answer will be 0.8

    you can either leave it as it is or you can add a bunch of 0 behind the 8 but they don't mean **** the examiner doesn't care if you wrote a million 0 as long as you have 0.8 in front of them

    or to try and impress you can write it in standard form

    8*10^-1

  3. Significant figures are those digits that make sense in the answer. As for decimals, normally two, three places are significant when there is value in those places.
