How many sleeping pills do you have to for it to kill you?

my friend said her cousin OD and died on just 3 sleeping pills! is that possible? the cousin was 15 and weighed about 35kg and i think she was about 158 tall or something like that. i just want to know if this is true cuz i so dont believe it and if it isnt how many would it actually take to kill you? or the cousin cuz i want to prove my friend wrong

158 tall and only 35kg????? It sounds like she was dying anyway!!! With that feather weight it's sort of not surprising.

Honestly, enough headache tablets can kill you - but you don't really need to know just how many ... even if it is to "prove your friend wrong".

What does it matter? She's lost her cousin. Your focus as her friend should be on helping her deal with a tragic loss - not proving her wrong!

It depends on the strength of the pills. If it was OTC, probably not; but if it was a Rx, it is possible.

While it it is still possible to die of overdose when as few as 10 pills are combined with alcohol or with other drugs, it is very unlikely because the strength of most sleeping pills produced today have been reduced to prevent overdose death.

You will need to consume these pills by the hundreds. but then again, It is rather difficult and expensive to purchase sleeping pills by the hundreds cuz they are controlled (prescriptional) drugs. and it is especially difficult to swallow them before falling asleep.

Your friend might not be telling the truth.

Its probably not true. It depends how strong they are but you would probably have to take more then that. A girl at my school OD on pain killers she took six, she survived but they had to pump or stomach and that. If they where realy strong they could have made her fair sick seen as she is fairly little, but i highly doubt that it killed her.
