I have a lot of trouble getting to sleep when I need to, so I use Simply Sleep, which is 25 MG per capsule. Usually, depending on my fatigue level before taking them, 1 or 2 will do the trick, but sometimes I need 3 and even 4.

I don't want to take too many and risk addiction and/or harm to my body, so what's the most I should be taking at once or in one day?

  1. You should never exceed the reccomended dosage of any medications without checking with your doctor first. You state 25 mg per capsule. But 25mg of what? What is the active ingredient?

  2. The more you take the worse you're going to feel in the morning.  Simply Sleep is basically Benadryl.  It's the exact same ingredient: Diphenhydramine hydrochloride.  It's never done much for me except to make me temporarily drowsy but it's never helped me sleep through the night and I usually wake up with my sinuses aching from being way too dry.   I much prefer Melatonin or Valerian.  They're usually found in the vitamin section and they have always been very effective for me.  I suppose I should throw in the good old:  "Ask your doctor before taking any new supplements line".  :)

  3. i would say not to take more then 2

  4. According to the Tylenol site, the recommended dosage is two capsules if you are 12 or older.  I would not take more than the two recommended, you could seriously harm your liver over time, or worse, overdose just for trying to get to sleep.

If you have that much trouble getting to sleep, I suggest doing some activities like a bit of exercise before bed, a nice walk could help, even drinking a glass of water or warm milk, and if you're lactose intolerant, warm tea.

You don't need to be taking pills to help get you to sleep, just find something to get rid of your extra energy or find something relaxing, you'll be drifting off to Slumberland in no time.

  5. Your body physically is probably already addicted to them. I used to take Tylenol PM's every night... the first night that I stopped, I was laying in bed ALL night and didn't sleep at all. So don't let that happen!! I'd say go to the doctor and talk to them, there may be something else going on that's interfering with your sleeping.

  6. One tablet more than your doctor has prescribed for you is too many.

  7. 3 is the max.
