Me and my best friend Lindsay are having a joint 14th birthday, with the theme Sunglasses at Night, like the song by Corey Hart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXw4qqQqTrY&feature=PlayList&p=789A77486CB65C79&index=87). Right now I'm working on music for that party. The party is 3 hours long, and there's not many couples coming but I wasn't sure. How many slow dance songs do you play at a party?

  1. ehh it depends how many couples ur inviting

    probably somwhere between 6-12

  2. I say a good number is 4 or 5.

  3. um, at our school dances (which are about 2 hours) we play about 4-5 slow songs. it depends really; have there been a lot of break ups between the ppl ur inviting (then just play a few 2-3) but if u kno some1 wants to dance with some1, use the slow songs to encourage them. a good rule of thumb is about 2-3 each hour i guess..If you want to be really safe, u can play on-the-edge of being a fast or slow song so ppl can decide! :-)

  4. none, noone these days likes to slow dance.

  5. Sounds fun :)

I say play about one for every hour. So maybe 3 - 5 slow songs should be about right....that's how many I'd want, and I'm your age. It's enough that you get a few chances to dance with the boys or relax, but not enough that its like "please. can we stop with the slow songs?"

Some good songs: You and Me by Lifehouse, Collide by Howie Day, Iris by Goo Goo Dolls, Far Away by Nickelback,  Apologize by One Republic.

    Hope that helped. :)
