  1. That's why we can't vote for Hussein.

  2. Yes, many will go under, along with thousands of jobs, and also, it will mean higher prices and less choice.

  3. Good & successful businesses - of any size - treat their employees as their most valuable resource.

  4. I am sure that many who are just barely making it would collapse under the weight of such a mandate. It would also prevent many new start-ups from ever getting off the ground. Unfortunately many of those who favor government intervention in the free market do not seem to possess a keen understanding of cause and effect in general as they deny it constantly.

  5. I would prefer universal health care.

And since you really care about your poor, precious "small businesses," it would seem you should be lobbying to institute some laws to really help them, such as restrictions on multinational conglomerate corporations, instead of b.i.tching about health insurance. Health insurance is not the reason our predatory capitalist system is totally f.u.cked up.

  6. You are right, we need single-payer, universal health coverage.

  7. To put  number on it is difficult but I would wager that upwards of a million would either go out of business or be forced to cut the majority of their staff and downsize dramatically..

  8. MANY small businesses operate on a VERY TIGHT string.

More government controls will kill them.....

  9. According to what I read, the Obama plan will have an exemption for small businesses but the cutoff is undeclared. For discussion, should be the cutoff under one million in revenues?

  10. I say that mandated health insurance would be ok...if only offered to certain work areas.  For example...the local market should not have to fork over health benefits...obviously.  But a business that offers actual full-time, skilled employment should.  Poor people should be entitled to health insurance too, but small businesses should not be burdened by gov't interference.  I agree with you on that.

EDIT: Oh...and lower min. wage.  6.55 is stupid.

  11. And then add $9.50 an hour minimum wage to that. Either they will have to up their prices and hope not to loose customers or fold up. Chances are that Obamas policies will destroy our economy.

I say 30% or more small businesses will fold up.
