  1. I had a 1997 Ranger. Mine was a extended cab XLT. It had 2 in the dash, 1 in each door, and 2 behind the seat. I am not into the high tech high power sound systems, so I can't answer you second question. I thought a sub woofer was a dog barking under water.

  2. Probably 4 little ones.  That's what my '78 El Camino has.  I just got a new sound system put in it and it sounds great.  I went with Pioneer speakers and an Alpine deck.  The sound quality in small trucks is really good since the compact cab is such a concentrated area.  You might be able to fit a sub woofer behind the seats.

As far as price, I'd go to the nearest Best Buy and have them help you out and advise you on which direction to take.  That's where I had my speakers/deck installed and they were very reasonable.  I think the whole thing cost about $400 (parts and installation).

  3. it probably has 4 speakers, one in both doors and one in both of the rear pillars between the windows. as far as the subs go, you could most likely fit two tens behind the seats fairly easy but you will have no cargo space after that.
