  1. Scientists have not yet discovered all species on earth. Further there are many ambiguity that scientists must resolve when they discover a species. Moreover there are places which are very inaccessible thus it is difficult to study life there.

Life itself doesn't stop evolving, some species are developing into other ones, acquiring new  capabilities(adaptation),whereas others are becoming extinct.

However science is progressing. Maybe the day we will discover them all, life will have already been extinct on earth.

  2. Only i know that and i can't tell you. Humans must a should know there place.

  3. no one will know.

  4. more than a million

  5. I read once it was over 1 million.

  6. not all of the species on earth have been found or documented or even seen, so nobody knows. i don't even think it's safe to estimate. but there's a whole crud load, i'll tell u that

  7. Our knowledge about the world is limited...

  8. Infinite species.....

  9. alot lol who the h**l knows

  10. Estimates range from 5 to 100 million; science has only identified 2 million :D

  11. many as in super duper echoz!

  12. no one freaking knows...only god knows

  13. its more than ur hair in ur head

  14. Megadeth quotes in a song of a "Psychotron" species and I think be neighboor is an alien. Also, I now believe in transformers so add 3 to what you have.

  15. Do not really know. - Everyday we discover new ones. - Their are over a million species.

  16. no one knows - we are still discovering new life!

I'm not sure what the number is at present though... ALOT

  17. A lot.

  18. 1,000,000,000,003

  19. We are still on a learning curve and really don't know. Summery of judgement on which species is wrecking the environment, 2 legs bad, 4 legs good.

  20. Current estimates of the total number of species on Earth range from 5 to 30 million, approximately 2 million have been formally described. Determining an accurate count is a challenging job because there is no central registry for species.

Some species, such as many large mammal, butterfly, bird, plant, and insect species, have been well studied. Over half of all described species are insects, including nearly 300,000 known beetles. However, the estimated number of insects on Earth is thought to be close to 8 million and, proportionally, scientists are closer to naming all plant and vertebrate species. Little continues to be known about the distribution and biology of vast numbers of species groups, including arthropods, fungi, and nematodes.

With technological advances, scientists have also discovered a wealth of new species in areas assumed to be barren, previously inaccessible to humans. Researchers have only recently discovered that the deep Antarctic seas are teeming with life. New species are also still being discovered in relatively well populated areas; one study found 10,000 bacterial species in a single gram of Minnesota soil.
