  1. 132 species of animals are emotive enough to actually cry, while 578 species of animals eyes water but not due to emotions.

  2. any species that gets dumped by their girlfriends

  3. Emotional crying is limited to just one animal, Homo sapiens.  Yes, the young of many animals will call out for their mother and to be feed.  But this is a survival mechanism,  not cause they are lonely.

Edit:  The comments by Mr R are meaningless unless substaniated by fact.  At least a reference to help support his claim is needed.

  4. that's hard to answer because it's difficult to define "crying" with animals.

animals (as far as we know) possess no ability of concious thought or emotion, so therefore nothing could make them "sad" enough to cry. some animals often water their eyes on purpose to get rid of excess dirt and dust, but they won't ever tear up if theyre not getting something

if you're referring to the actual sound of crying, then yes. animals cry often when in pain, or if they feel like they are in danger. young animals often let out yelps to alert their parents that they don't feel safe, but tears would never come out. some animals don't even have tear ducts, so they wouldn't even be able to cry.

    hope that helps!
