Sometimes at night, there are Giant House spiders, crawling around on my walls. I used to kill them, before I knew they were harmless. But since ive stopped killing them i havn't seen anymore. And its impossible for them to bite you. AND , they are competition for the Hobo spider, so if I have a few giant house spiders, they will keep the Hobo spider population to ZERO.

I killed 1 of them, and killed another one a week before, and released one out side, did the one i released outside on a rainy day die?

And also, since Ive killed 3 spiders in total, how many more would be left in my house?

  1. Between 20 and 27 in the summer.

Between 35 and 39 in the winter.

  2. Depending on the size of your house, you could have anywhere from a couple hundred to a couple thousand spiders in it.  I'm KIDDING!!!  Really, you probably have around a hundred or so, maybe not even that many.  There's competition for food, so most spiders that will get into your home will die off without a food supply.  But if you live in squalor, you can bet your a** that there's spiders galore living on flies and whatever other bugs are being attracted to your funk.  The cleaner the home, the smaller the problem with vermin.  Spiders have their benefits, but if you're allergic, they can be a pest and a pain.  By the way, I'm not saying you live in a funky home, I'm just using that term as an example.  Clutter is a big attraction to them, as well.  The more places to hide, the better they like it.  Man, I bet there's a couple thousand spiders in here with me.  I better call Terminix...

  3. Wow. Do you have a phobia of spiders? Just get some little roach motels and they will crawl in there and die.
