  1. Professor Wonderful has one correct answer - the second "yard" in your sentence refers to a back yard, or front yard, or side yard, an area next to a house.  Measure the length and width of this yard in - you guessed it - yards (the 36 inch kind), and multiply the two together.  Your answer will be in square yards - the 1296 square inch kind.

  2. Depends on the length and width of the yard.

  3. good question, goes right along with how many sides a circle has.

  4. None... That wasn't a very good question to tell you the truth...

  5. A yard has one dimension, and measures length. A square yard has two dimensions, and is a measure of area.

  6. If you mean exactly what you typed, the person above is correct with 'None'.

However, if you refer to an area one yard by one yard square, the answer is 'Nine'.

    There is another possibility.

The yard, of which you speak, could well be your back yard.

The number of square yards is then dependent upon the size of your yard...or the back yard in question.

For causing me to contemplate, take an A for the day.

Now, move to the head of the class.
